Design Values

Perceptual Clarity

Light should make space legible. Hierarchy, contrast, and distribution guide how a space is read and understood.

Iterative Development

Design evolves through testing, mockups, and refinement. Performance is proven, not assumed.

Atmospheric Intent

Lighting establishes emotional tone. It should be calibrated to support how a space feels across time, not just how it looks in a single moment.

Portfolio Overview

Lighting design is approached as a primary medium for shaping space, perception, and atmosphere. Work is developed through iterative testing, evaluating distribution, diffusion, reflectance, and glare to produce controlled and intentional luminous environments.

Projects span from luminaire design to spatial lighting strategies, with an emphasis on how light interacts with material and architecture. Prototyping, mockups, and fabrication are used to test performance at full scale, ensuring that concepts translate into successful, resolved outcomes.

What I Do

CREATIVE DIRECTION

Creative direction operates across both product and spatial lighting work, shaping how projects are conceived, experienced, and communicated.

  • Direct all visual output, including photoshoots, brand identity, and product launches

  • Develop narrative structure and sequencing across projects, from single fixtures to full environments

  • Lead art direction and spatial composition for renders, installations, and campaign imagery

  • Shape brand voice, positioning, and audience engagement across digital platforms

  • Oversee collaborations with photographers, fabricators, and creative partners

  • Align storytelling with material, fabrication, and lighting performance

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Leadership and teaching are grounded in both past studio experience and ongoing education, bridging hands-on fabrication with design thinking.

  • Led a design and fabrication studio, managing a team across concept, prototyping, and production

  • Established standards for quality, workflow, and execution within a small, fast-moving studio

  • Teach workshops focused on material processes, lighting fundamentals, and iterative development

  • Mentor emerging designers and makers through hands-on, process-driven learning

  • Facilitate environments where making and learning are directly linked

Social media is approached as an extension of the studio, using content to shape narrative, build audience, and expand how lighting is understood and engaged.

  • Co-created and run Will it Lamp?, growing the platform to 300K+ followers across platforms

  • Built and manage a personal platform to 17K+ followers, establishing a distinct voice around lighting, design, and process

  • Produce content that regularly reaches 1M+ views per post across platforms

  • Direct content strategy, storytelling, and visual consistency from ideation through release

  • Develop series-based content and sequencing to drive sustained audience growth and engagement

  • Translate technical and material processes into accessible, high-performing content

Product development bridges concept, material, and manufacturing, with a focus on translating design intent into resolved, buildable lighting.

  • Lead development from initial concept through prototyping, testing, and final production

  • Design luminaires with attention to performance, assembly, and long-term durability

  • Iterate through full-scale mockups to evaluate light quality, diffusion, and material behavior

  • Integrate fabrication methods and constraints into the design process from the outset

  • Develop custom solutions in collaboration with clients, fabricators, and suppliers

  • Refine details, tolerances, and finishes to ensure clarity between design intent and final output
