Gathered Matter

Gathered Matter was a series of illuminated sculptures exhibited at Adamah Gallery in Columbus, Ohio in April 2025. Light functioned as the primary medium, shaping perception, defining form, and extending each piece beyond its physical structure.

Through controlled illumination, the work explored movement, texture, and shadow as active conditions rather than secondary effects. Surfaces were used to catch, diffuse, and redirect light, creating shifting atmospheres that evolved with the viewer’s position.

The series examined human relationships through these spatial and luminous interactions, considering how connection and disconnection are experienced in the spaces between. Light operated as both connector and divider, establishing moments of continuity, interruption, and resonance within the environment.
