At Rory Pots, we design and create functional and sculptural ceramic lighting and other home goods to make your living and professional spaces truly unique.
We make everything from ceramic table lamps, sconces, pendants, and chandeliers, to design objects and kitchenware. Each piece is wheel thrown, trimmed, pulled, sculpted, glazed, cleaned, and packaged by hand. Pottery in an intentional process. My work as a ceramic artist pulls from the experiences we each hold as humans–the connection, the fatigue, the desire–through contemporary interpretations of the bygone eras of design.
Our handmade pieces are inspired by minimalist | mid century modern | scandinavian | danish modern | and japandi design. We look to classic lines, shapes, and colors for the base of our design inspiration. This, in conjunction with inspiration from the contemporary design world, allows us to create pieces that are deeply unique and offer a sense of timelessness.
The fully handmade nature of my work lends itself quite easily to this. Nothing we make is slipcasted, nothing is manufactured. Each and every piece is wheel thrown, sanded, and glazed by hand.
In a way, my muscles know these pieces much better than I do. And you feel this in our finished products. You know you have a one of a kind work of art that’s entirely yours even if its just for the small unique details that come with each piece.
Our intention is to make work that will enter our clients lives and live there as an heirloom to be passed down through generations.
